The publications export is ideal if you're looking to move data from Cipher to other systems, or if you're looking to export information from your report at an individual patent level to see which assets are in force.

The publication export can also help you to locate or extract Utility Model patents from your report, as these are highlighted in this export in the publication type column.

This export can help you to achieve this very simply.

What can be included in the Publication Export report?

  • Family ID

  • Organisation

  • Territory

  • Application number

  • Publication number

  • Publication type

  • Publication status

  • Application date

  • Publication date

  • Title

  • Assignee

  • Technology (from your report)

Publication Export Options

There are various tick boxes in Cipher when choosing your publication export options.

  • The technologies of your report (whether from clustering or classifiers) are included in the export. You can choose whether these are included in one excel sheet, or split into separate tabs.

  • You can choose to include a territories column if you're interested in where the application/publication has been made.

  • Include assignees column adds this additional information to your export.

  • 'Show grants only' means exclude everything that isn't a grant publication. This will also include grant publications of expired families. Publication status is shown in the export.

  • 'Show active families only' means ignore pending, expired, rejected, and other status families. This export will show whether it's an application publication or a grant publication.

  • If both 'show grants only' and 'show active families only' is selected, only grant publications from active families will be shown.

How to generate the Publication Export
